On Valentine’s Day, our Sr. High (and those 8th graders who are going to IYC) will be hosting a Parents Night Out from 6pm-9pm at Eastland. Students will need to be in the youth room/downstairs of the FLC gym at 5pm to get special information and instruction for the night. They will help provide a movie, activities, and snacks to children from Eastland and the Upward community. IYC 2010

International Youth Convention is one of the highlights of a student’s time during their high school years. The convention is hosted by a different city every other summer. Over the past three youth conventions:
- 44 states and 14 countries were represented.
- Over 17,100 students and adults were present for these life-changing days.
- Over 1,500 students and adults have worked in numerous states and in five foreign countries donating thousands of hours of labor and love.
- Over $250,000 was given to Spread the Word. STW gives specifically to tools for evangelism around the world.
- It is estimated that 28,000 hours worth of volunteer labor has been given to the host cities.
- Over 650 teenagers have indicated a sense of a call to full-time ministry or missions.
God uses IYC to change lives!
Eastland’s Trip Fast Facts:
- Leaving: Wednesday, July 14th
- Returning: Monday, July 19th
- Place: Orlando, Florida
- Hotel: Peabody Hotel
- Cost (travel, room, registration): $520 + spending money
- Suggested Food Money: $180 (18 meals total)
- Registration ($140) Due: March 14th
We will be traveling all day on July 14th, staying through the convention, heading to Cocoa Beach on Sunday afternoon, and making the return trip on Monday, July 19th.

We are in full swing with student ministry, with Sunday mornings, small groups, Wednesday night Student Worship and our may gatherings that are planned for the coming months. All of Eastland will be preparing for T2 on Sunday mornings from Feb. 7-21, and Student Ministries is no exception. Join us during our Sunday morning “Saturate,” as we prepare for God to move in our hearts, too!
Icepocalypse 2010
Monday, Feb. 15th – School is out, but we are IN! Meet us at Eastland at 12pm and bring $15 for ice skating, ice cream, and more icy fun!

Super Bowl Party

We are having a Super Bowl party on Sunday, Feb. 7th at the Mosher’s (3278 Pimlico Pkwy, Lexington, KY 40517). Whether you are an avid fan or have no idea who is even going to be playing, it’s going to be THE place to be! Join us at 5 PM until the game ends. Look for directions in the Sunday bulletin and please bring a snack to share.
