Meet the Staff

Julie Dodson – Director of Student Ministries

Julie Dodson is on staff at Eastland Church as one of the Directors of Student Ministries, focusing on Jr. High students. She grew up in the Church of God in Ashland, KY, where most of her family lives now. She began her college career at Georgetown College as an Art Major, but God had a different idea. Through working with a local youth group, she felt God’s calling to pursue youth ministry, which led her to Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City, OK.

She graduated from MACU in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Specialized Ministries and Theology. Her time at Eastland began as an internship after graduation in the summer of 2006 but led to being hired in August that year. Along with her position at Eastland, she is continuing her education at Asbury Theological Seminary, working towards a Masters in Counseling. She hopes this will help her be better equipped to minister in and out of the church community.

Julie is 27 and lives in Frankfort with her new, wonderful husband, Andrew. Her passions are talking about her story of grace, being real (especially with youth girls) about God’s work through her weaknesses, and building relationships. She loves to be outside, hiking or rock-climbing being two of her favorite activities. She can also always go for a good cup of coffee with friends.
